Are health conditions keeping you from training effectively? Are you unable to be deployed due to health concerns? Do you need help to strengthen after an injury? Are your medical employment limitations making you unfit for full working duties? Do you need guidance in establishing an effective fitness program due to a medical condition? Are your physical restrictions limiting you? If yes, we can help you with our programs.

The Canadian Forces (CF) is committed to helping ill and injured personnel and their loved ones, through programs ranging from excellent medical care to vocational assistance to social support and counselling. This happens with programs called PSP Reconditioning Program, Soldier On and Soldier On Fund.

PSP Reconditioning Program                                                                   The program will benefit you both physically and psychologically. Examples of benefits are:

  • aid in the establishment of a healthy body weight
  • increase muscular strength and endurance
  • increase bone strength, improve balance and   coordination
  • help prevent and treat high blood pressure
  • high cholesterol and diabetes
  • reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases
  • improve cardiovascular efficiency
  • reduce stress, anxiety and depression
  • increase energy, self-esteem and improve mood
  • increase functionality of persons with disabilities
  • promote better sleep
  • increase independence and self control
  • increase the ability to concentrate and focus
  • improve social life

Soldier On                                                                                                      Soldier On was created in 2006 with the aim of supporting ill and injured military personnel with a permanent or chronic disability, both still serving and retired, and their families to attain an active and healthy lifestyle. Soldier On supports these personnel in increasing their independence, in developing new skills, in achieving goals and opening the door to other life opportunities. It furnishes an opportunity for them to socialize and explore common interests, and share learning experiences. Soldier On partners in many initiatives with the Canadian Paralympic Committee (a non-profit, charitable, private organization and recognized by the International Paralympic Committee). This aims to empower Canadians with physical disabilities through sport.

The Soldier On Fund                                                                                    While the Soldier On program is limited to supporting serving CF personnel, the Soldier On Fund has a wider application. It may be used to support not only currently serving CF personnel, but also former personnel and families of ill and injured. So far, the Soldier On Fund has provided financial grants to accomplish the following: purchasing adaptive sports equipment and equipment that supports an adaptive lifestyle This includes: custom mountain bike, basketball wheelchair, hockey sledge, rowing shell and customized home gyms; and subsidizing the expenses of physical, recreational or sport related activity that directly contributes to attaining a healthy and active lifestyle.

I look forward in working with you in our programs,
